Update! I've Been Busy!

It has been awhile friends! I bring to you, as an offering for forgiveness, some fun updates and what I've been up to these last several months.

First, pausing something that you're passionate about is never fun. But let's be real, sometimes the break is exactly what you need to get the blood pumping again.  That's what it was for me, a break to get the creative juices running again!

Over the winter I worked on some of the items to be given as gifts to teachers, friends, and myself (of course!). The most popular thing and the one that was requested over and over again was a super simple snowman amigurumi doll.  I think I made a dozen of them, just on requests.  All told, it was closer to three dozen but that was fine by me! The pattern works up quickly and is super cute.

And because I'm not busy enough being a full time wife, mother, chef, employee, and part time student, I have also discovered a new passion, circular machine knitting! I had tried for years and years to learn how to knit, my hands just can't get the hang of using two needles instead of one hook and I had all but given up. I know that they've been around for ages but I had never jumped on the band wagon but, finally, I did. Did you know that you can make blankets, sweaters, mittens, toques, scarves, shawls, ponchos, and more with these machines? I've been learning how to use my machines for the last three months and I cannot wait to show you all what I've been working on :)

I have used three different brands of knitting machines and I will post my reviews of all of them in the hope that it helps you make a decision about which one to buy.

I also did a bit of soul searching. Was this website something that I really wanted to maintain, did people even look at what I had been posting, would it gain traction if I just kept at it? The answers were yes, I hope so, and I really hope so!  I'm sure that there are plenty of crafters out there that would just like something to read or inspiration for their next project or to know that they aren't the only ones frogging WIPs (trust me friend, you are not). I've frogged so many WIPs that my husband bought me a cute little frog to go on my crafting table.

So, that being said, I hope that you will continue on with me on my journey of creating yarn crafts, I appreciate all of you who held out hope that I would return.

I will be back soon with some of the different projects that I've been working on and who my favorite Youtubers are. Until then!

Happy crafting,

Barbara
